Welcome to the site

Firstly you need to apply to the state board of nursing where you want to work and meet requirements for foreign trained nurse. Links to the state board of nursing can be found at the bottom o the page Once you have eligibility you sit NCLEX and hopefully pass, then you look for a employer and then join the retrogression queue and wait for several years for a visa.

May want to read up on retrogression as there are several threads discussing it but basically means there is a high demand for visas and currently there are no visas until the new year starts in Oct and then expected date is anywhere between 2003 and 2005 (that is when people had an application filed for them)

What is the training like in Egypt? There is a shortage of qualified MSN faculty members. You may qualify for a special visa if you have experience and education.

I too would love to learn what the training is like there in Egypt. I'd also like to learn about the educational system. Here unfortunately they focus a lot on general education rather than in your major, but too also has a lot to do with your major.

thanks alot 4 ur help

In Egypt , MSN is the broadest and most qualified field in nursring , most of the nurses are either working in it or willing to , MSN is apparent and magnified most in critical care settings , i'm working in critical care for about 4 years tell today, 2 yrs in neonatal icu and 2 yrs in adult icu.

I know neonatal icu i quit different than what is meant by MSN , but it made me more meticulous and sensitive at my work in adult icu, it learns you to take care of the details and small things related to your patient

In egypt we got used to be responsible for 2-3 critical cases at same time , that makes us dynamic more than u imagin.

critical care nurses in egypt are considered the most skillful and knowledgable in all nurses

i want to ask how to get special visa?

i dont know what u mean by general education.

Educational system in egypt gives you a chance to deal with many cases when u still student in the first year , cuz there is a shortage on nurses and many of cases

So most of the nurses have completed their BSN ( University) and gone on to complete their Masters Degree which is 5-6 years after high school.

What special visa are you looking for? I would suggest starting point is registering with a BON and if eligibly sit and pass NCLEX and then look for a employer, then the type of visa will be easier to look at.

What is meant by general education is history, philosophy, humanities, and courses that don't necessarily apply to your major. That's why it's referred to as "general education". Here in the US they apparently want us to be well rounded people. That's the reason why it sometimes takes people longer than 4 years to complete a BSN. Here our ASN is a 4 year program. It's usually 2 years in prerequisites and general education and then another 2 years in the nursing program.

It sounds to me like the OP is using "MSN" as an abbreviation for "medical-surgical nursing" rather than "Master's of Science in Nursing" degree. I'm not sure everyone's talking about the same thing here ...

yah exactly.

but actually the work field demands nurses more than available by several folds ,so working at private hospital is better paying than a university job .
