DS230 application HELP

by imao28

Hi everybody,
I just want somebody to help me in my DS230 form. I am already in packet 3 and already paid my Visa fee bill for me and my family and I'm in the process of filling up my DS230. I hope somebody will answer my inquiries as follows:

1. regarding item no. 21a shall I put all my family members?Because I intend to go to the US first then within 6 mos. my family will follow?
"21a. Person(s) named in 14 and 19 who will accompany you to the United States now."

2. Or shall I put my family members name in this box. Will it affect the issuance of their visa if I will put them on a later date?
"21b. Person(s) named in 14 and 19 who will follow you to the United States at a later date"

HOPE SOMEBODY COULD HELP ME OR ARE IN THE SAME SITUATION AS I AM.

You must put all your family members(spouse and children 21 below) in item no. 21a, because the visa expiration once it is issued is 6months below therefore your spouse and children can follow you within 6months period. They are also with you during your interview with the consul.

But if you choose to answer item no. 21b, your family will surely follow you after 2 years or more.

My reply is according to what I have known, Suzanne4 and Lawrence, may comment on this as they are more experienced than I am.

Hi, imao!
I wonder what your priority date is. As far as I can tell, because of the retrogression, DS forms are not accepted by NVC now. Did NVC send the request for DS forms to you now?
Thanks.

Hi rozmaril and precy,
Sorry for the delay of the reply. Anyway, PD is August, 2006, I-140 approved, October, 2006, Visa Fee Bill generated by NVC (including family members) November, 2006; Visa Fee Bill paid. December, 2006. As I have said I am in the process of filling up of my DS230 inspite of retrogression but I am optimistic it will be lifted soon. Thanks for asking.

Make sure that all family members are listed on the DS-230, they will have up to 6 months to join you in the US. If they are not listed, it will be minimum of two years once you are in the US before they can join you otherwise.

DS-230 forms are not currenly being accepted, everything stops after the I-140 approval and bill being paid.

Hi suzanne4,
Thanks for your reply. So, I should put the names of my family members on box item 21a of the DS230. I just want to be sure once retro is lifted.
Thanks a lot

Suzanne4 is right. DS230 forms are not currently being process, it will return back to you or to your choice of agent once you have submitted it to them because of the retrogression.
