Differences between UK and USA nursing?

Hi all,

Just wondering from you guys who have worked in both the UK and USA what are the main differences I should expect when nursing in the USA?

Are things very different in terms of administering medication? Do nurses take blood? What are the politics like lol!

Any comparisons would be useful,

It varies even greratly in the US in terms of medication adminsitration. Some are paper and pen for the charting of meds, and some are completely computerized, both for taking the meds out of a Pyxis unit, as well as charting of the meds.

Nurses draw blood in some facilities, in others they do not. Again it is hospital dependent.
