Demand for Enrolled Nurses in Canada???

Just curious what the demand is like for Enrolled nurses planning to migrate from Australia to Canada - eg. BC or Alberta?

- May 7, '10 by janfrnCurrently there is NO demand for internationally educated nurses in Alberta or BC. Enrolled nurses are finding that their education isn't considered equivalent and they're have to undergo SEC (FAQ - Substantially Equivalent Competence (SEC) Assessments ) and significant upgrading before they're eligible to write the Canadian Registered Nurse Exam ( FAQ - The Canadian Registered Nurse Examination (CRNE) ).

They are usually issued practice permits by the College of LPNs.
BUT like Jan said there is no demand for IENs. Heck, most the last years graduating classes are still looking for work and very well may be knocking on Australia's door for work.
