Competence Assessment Service

by InnaL
Updated Nov 29, 2007 at 08:16 AM by InnaL

I received the letter from the
Queensland nursing board that I have to take challenge test. What is that? something like NCLEX? Do I have to come to Australia for that? I have license in USA, educated in Russia. Practicing in USA for over a year. Please, share with me information regarding this matter

Sorry, not able to answer that question for you today. I can phone and ask QNC what a 'challenge test' entails on Monday. Unless, somebody else knows this already.

Thank you. Some information listed on the QNC website. I am curious what type of test is it, format, style. You can take it only once. that is why I am trying to get as much info as I can.
by the way, what test australian nurses have to take after graduation, for registration and license?

Hi, I phoned QNC and was advised that Central Queensland University (CQU) manages Competency Assessment Service including the Challenge Test. I have attached the appropriate links.

Hi Innal. have you taken the challenge test? can you please advise me if you have? what type of exam is it? I've taken the CGFNS & NCLEX exam. Is it different from these exams? I'll be waiting for your reply. thanks.

Hi,
I went through the competence assessment service for queensland which is made up of a challenge test and then a practical assessment after you have passed the test. it involves some multiple choice and short answer questions. as they give you a date for the test they will also send some details of the topics that will be covered in the exam. it is divided into 4 areas and you have to pass all of them by a minimum of 80%

Only in QNC do they have a competency exam which is equivalent to a bridging program. Or you may also take online modules instead of the exam.
