I just needed to vent a little and ask advice. Has anyone else here had a problem with the CNO not receiving your transcripts/other documents after numerous mailings? I've been at this since January this year and I've been pestering the heck out of my former workplace and colleges/universities. They all say the same thing, that they've mailed the stuff already. I've triple checked the address and it's right in all cases. I don't really know what to do anymore. They won't process my application until they receive all the documentation. :( Just a little background: I'm a Licensed Practical Nurse from the U.S. with 12 years experience and one year of prerequisites toward my associate degree in nursing. I was going to try for RPN, but at this rate, I'm not sure I'll ever get to work as a nurse in Canada. I moved to Ontario in December 2013 to live with my partner (who is a Canadian citizen). I'm still on visitor status, but hope to apply for residency in January 2015 based on common law marriage. I just wanted to get a head start on my nursing stuff and it's a good thing I started early. :p I've just emailed all my places for the third time this morning. It's so frustrating! Any advice?

Send it registered so that way someone has to sign to show it has been received.

That's what I've decided to do. My former workplace is going to send the job description to me in a sealed company envelope and I'm going to send it via registered mail to the CNO. Do you think they'll accept that? Hopefully I can get my college to send the course descriptions again with registered mail. This whole thing is a nightmare. :p

They will definitely take it. Myself and many of my classmates used registered mail when sending in our forms to register for the national exam - none of us wanted our papers to get lost and to get stuck waiting 3 months until the next one!

When we decided to move from the US to Canada, my spouse had to renew her Ontario license. She went through some thing similar in that they kept saying they never received stuff. The process took almost a year. Someone finally figured out that they had filed her last name wrongly. Somewhere along the line a clerical person reversed two letters and Glad became Gald.

So just make sure that your papers aren't sitting somewhere filed under an incorrectly spelled last name.

Ok, they seem to have received everything and started the evaluation process on June 24th, but I still don't have an answer. How long does this process usually take? Should I be worried? Thanks!

No I wouldn't worry yet.It can take months.
