clarification please...

by behmarz

I'm an applicant in NM BON. I've submitted my application last August2007 and until now I haven't received any notice from the board. It worries me a lot especially that they have released a revised form in applying for their state. This statement worries me lot because last time you only need to submit your TOR and they will be the one to process it for you.

"Graduates from non- U.S. programs must submit proof of nursing education that is equivalent to an approved program of nursing in the U.S. The board does not evaluate transcripts. You must have an
evaluation of educational credentials conducted by a qualified credentials evaluator. Applications received without this evaluation will be considered incomplete and returned to the individual."

"Applicants who are Graduates of Foreign Nursing Programs: The Board of Nursing requires you to have your nursing education evaluated by a qualified credentialing agency.
You must request the nursing or health care profession and science course-by-course credentials review. You are responsible for all fees charged by these services."

Will this affect my application in their BON? Any information will be highly appreciated.

Do you know for a fact that they have received it? Just because you sent it, that does not mean that they have received it. And that your file is complete.

Suggest that you contact them directly for specifics about your application.

Yes, they have received it because I sent my application thru fed-ex and it has a trace number. I've been e-mailing them about my application but still they haven't replied to my letter. It really worries me because it is as if I'm waiting for nothing. Still, thanks for the reply suzanne.

You sent your part, but do you know for a fact that they received the completed file on you, such as your transcripts from your school and that your fingerprint cards were accepted?

If it has been taking this long, there is definitely a problem with something and you need to follow up with them to find out what it is.

When more than four months, you need to follow up with them.

I've been following up my application with them but they haven't replied on my letters even once. Isn't it they will give me a notice if ever I lack even one requirement? What is the best way to follow up on them? Do they answer overseas phone calls? Thanks again. =>

Go to their website, they have a special section there about what to do to contact them. Just follow what it tells you to do there.

hi behmarz! i too had my TOR sent last august. then i sent my application last september. i got a letter from them last oct saying that i have to resend my payment for the fingerprint cards since they increased their fees. anyway, that's how i found out that they have my papers. i also paid them thru credit card and saw that they already charged me for it.

anyway, its been five months since i sent my TOR and until now i don't know the status of my application. i've emailed them and used their online "feedback" and haven't received any word. i'm very anxious too.

it you have time, you can look at the new mex forum. i was relieved to have read a post there. astroboy i think, im not sure, i have to look again, anyway, he sent his applcation last july and got his eligibility last dec. ianjel also just received his eligibility last jan 31. let's keep our fingers crossed that ours will be in the mailbox soon...

also, about the new requirements, i don't think we'll be affected since we sent ours last year. according to silverdragon's post, only those who will start applying this feb are affected by the changes.
