by rednalexa Apr 18, '11Hello all,
After nearly 3 years in the acute med/surg area I've decided to move on...I've accepted a job in a fabulous aged care facility here in Melbourne. As a kiwi trained nurse I'm having trouble understanding the grading system (still...haha). So currently in a public hospital I'm a RN Div 1, Grade 2 year 3. The new job I'm going to i'm jumping to grade 4A. Can anyone tell me exactly what grade 4A is? Is there 4B, 4C?? Is the "a" specific to aged care or? Very confused here.... ALSO if in a years time or whatever I decide to return to hospital based work would i go back to grade 2 year 3 or jump to year 4/5/6
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I think that you would carry on up the ladder as you have been registered and nursing for the required hours.
Best of luck to you.
