Hello There,

I did not receive anything eithere from the CGFNS, only the study guide. I contacted them and they said they had sent me the info pack and id card twice. I never received anything. I have said this before, but they are very unhelpful and never answer emails. Good Luck to all those who took the exam on the 9th of November. Hopefully we will see the results in the next two weeks on the CGFNS web site.

All the Best .

Angry Update on EMS
EMS has "World-wide Postal Courier Network" printed on the receipt...coupled with my previous experience that documents were received within 1 week of mailing, I guess I just thought they were as reliable as FedEx, but cheaper.

I called up the Philippine Post Office, and they told me they SUB-CONTRACTED my documents to another company. When I called up the "company" the guy told me that according to his computer, my documents were NOT delivered.

He said he'll try to ask their people in the US if they delivered the documents.

Now I learn I have a problem. The bank draft for the Visa Screen was in that shipment.

Question is, can I ask the bank (Banco de Oro) to trace where the money ended up? Can they re-issue the check if it got lost? I have a photocopy of the check.

What other options do I have?

Yep, same thing here.

Must be a big racket, collecting all those mailing fees and sending stuff to limbo. There had been too many instances to blame things to accidents.

I didn't receive the 2 ID cards and 1 Roster Letter. That's 3 pieces of lost mail for me...and I've talked with around 5 other people in the same boat, that's 18 pieces of "lost" mail!

I think CGFNS has to use another company to mail their stuff.

My problem with EMS was compounded by the inefficiency of CGFNS. If they had only answered my emails within "10 to 15 business days" as they promised then I could have caught this problem sooner.

Man, I get the feeling I gotta look for another $325 for the Visa Screen fee.

And all along I thought my Visa Screen processing was under way!!!

Default EMS delivered my Visa Screen application & payment
Their records showed documents delivered end of September. Got the time and the name of the person who got them.

I guess I'll be calling CGFNS up later tonight.

Wish me luck.

I just called up CGFNS.

I think people should know about my problem, so I started this thread: http://allnurses.com/forums/f75/he-s...ml#post1420738

Moral of the Story: use FedEx when sending important documents.

Before doing anyhting else, check with the bank to see if the check was ever cashed. If it was, then they can start a search to see where the file went to. This happened to DHEL and he was ready to start the process over, and they found everything. It was misplaced into another file.

But first, find out if the money order was ever cashed. That would be your first step.

Again to all of you: EMS is just the name of the air-mail carrier services in some countries. It is not a courier service.

Pay the extra money and use one for the courier services, you can use Fed EX, DHL, UPS, etc. Just make sure that it is a service not with your mail service.

It's nice to know that this had happened before.

In DHEL's case, did CGFNS acknowledge that they got the papers, or did CGFNS also claim that they did not receive them?

In my case, the CGFNS person was adamant that they do not have an employee by the name of the signee, that they do not have my Visa Screen application nor payment.

The subcontractor was sure they delivered my papers to the right address. They'll be giving me a "hard copy" of the signature. They said they deliver mail to CGFNS all the time, so it's improbable they lost my documents. They cannot give me a timeframe on when they can send me the "hard copy" though.

Anyway, tomorrow I'll have the bank check where the money ended up, if it was encashed.

I'm curious: is it common for people to get documents not meant for them? Is it common for people to encash such checks, is it easy to do?

Amen!

Painful lesson.

BTW, the CG guy who answered the phone...told me that the results of the Nov. 9 exam will have to wait another 4 to 6 weeks.

CGFNS apparently put his documents in another file. The first thing that you need to do is find out if the check was cashed, if it wasn't, then the entire file may have been lost. If it was, then it will list which CGFNS account # if was credited to and they may find your things in that file.

I really doubt that it will be another 4 to 6 weeks for scores to be posted, it may be that long before you receive the letter, but the pass or no pass should be up in the next two weeks, if not before.

OK, I hope this was the case. So when the bank traces where the money ended up, they should be able to get the CGFNS/ICHP number? It's nice to learn something new each day.

I hope this was what happened to my papers.

How long did it take for them to trace the check? Is there a charge for that?

Actually the buzz going around the examinees here is that the results should be online Dec. 9. Since I was talking to a CGFNS guy anyway, I thought I could ask if he knows when they'll release the results.

He said, "another 4 to 6 weeks."

I hope he's wrong, and I hope we all passed the CGFNS exam.

Waiting is so hard!

I am also a little concerned about the scoring method that CGFNS is using. I failed the most recent test by a large margin of more than 50, but I have never scored lower than 50% in the simulations. I have done more than 3000 Qs in the preparation and the average is 65%. During the test I felt it's even a little easier than the sims. Now I am kinda lost. If I failed by such a big margin even when I could get around 65%, how good is it considered to be good enough?
