CGFNS Exam Processing

I'm from the Philippines and I'm aware that one of the requirements for the CGFNS qualifying exam is our local license/registration certificate....i just passed recently a few weeks ago unfortunately the soonest I can register in our BON is on the 10th of august and that's the deadline for receipt of application materials for the nov 9 CGFNS examination date which i'm trying to target

pls advise me on this problem...is there any substitute for the license/registration certificate? would a certification that I passed our local board exam suffice?

No idea on this, but I would advise you to get all the documents ready before you can apply for the CGFNS exams. If you do it by the book, it will save you troubles later. I think the next exam would be March next year. It would be helpful that for the meantime, to take the english exams first.

CGFNS actually does not require local licensure to sit for the exam. Just include a note as to why you do not have it as of yet. You can include proof that you passed the exam and that should be fine.............

My advice( if you wish to follow) is to forget cgfns and apply to NY BON. This will save you time and money. I didn't take my CGFNS and CA BON granted me my license. But for CA BON to have hard copy( meaning your ID) license you must have SS# which New York doesn't require. Once you passed for NCLEX you must start your visa screen certificate which is good for 5 years. Vermont processing center is the fastest in which NY falls so this will help you get your GC faster than CA. zuriel

thanks suzanne and zuriel! actually i'm very interested with NY-BON....i have one question though do I have to pass NCLEX first before sending my visa screen application or I can just send out the three forms(form1, credential verification and visascreen certificate) simultaneously?

I encourage anyone to send all three at the same time, if you have the funds available. Otherwise, if you need to do them one at a time, start with the CVS, then NY application, and finally Visa Screen.
