CGFNS exam on 13th July

by starbin

I am taking CGFNS exam on 13th of July. I knew about it only few days ago when one of the CGFNS person called me and confirmed the exam schedule. I finished reviewing the CGFNS official study guide and Kaplan book. Now, I am doing some CD practice tests..my score is around 65-75%. I am worried about the exam,,how much practice score is predictive of passing the actual exam???CGFNS is a paper pencil test,,but quite similar to NCLEX,,how helpful are the NCLEX preparation books for CGFNS? please give me some tips.

At this point, I would also use the Saunders Comprehensive Review Book with CD. Be aware that CGFNS is quite different frm NCLEX, at least it has been in the past. There are alot more patho-physiology questions on the exam, as well as drugs.

Good luck, where will you be taking it?

Default CGFNS test
Hi
I will be doing the test on july 13. I am using Nclex-Rn review made incredibly easy (Lippincott Williams and wilkins).I find it good. But for example , I didn't find any details about the childhood deseases :Rubella, measles , mumps. so I will have to review them thru other sources.this is the link that I found .It might help http://kidshealth.org/

on the CGFNS website , it is mentioned that they will be adding starting july few more questions .this is the link.

Default test center
My exam will be in Georgia State University in Atlanta.

I have been studying since January on and off . I just want to finish with the test.I did the practice test in CGFNS book and I am getting around 70 wrong answers from the 260 questions.I guess it is not bad

I talked to someone who passed the CGFNS test one year a go. She said that each person got a different booklet. some got a lot of questions about psychiatry , other got alot of gynecology and someone elsen had a lot of respiatory questions and a lot of questions about drugs side effects.

Hi
Your score seems wonderful..I am not well prepared. My score is around 70%. I just knew about the exam on 1st July, after one of the CGFNS representative called me and confirmed the date,,,I started the processing a year ago, but there was some problem with the documents so I was not assigned the exam date...I finished the CGFNS study guide, and Kaplan NCLEX-RN. I am very much anxious.

Hi, I can understand your feeling because I am also in the same pit. I am impatiently waiting for them to post the results on their website. I check my account every now and then,,there is no change...I had heard that they generally post it in 3-4 weeks,,but its already been 4 weeks.
Do you live in NY? Where are you from?
