Canadian Nurse Recruiter

by Marcy74

I'm currently in the UK but is seriously considering relocating to Alberta; Does anyone know of any Nurse recruitment Agency or is it better to apply directly to the Hospital and do the immigration bit on your own. I'm presently awaiting my CARNA decision but is a bit unsure of what to do while I'm waiting. Guys, I'd really appreciate your advise. Thank you.

I would certainly do it yourself, it is I promise you very easy to do, can be a bit frustrating at times but the forms are very straight forward, hospitals will have dealings with IEN and know what to do, plus we can easily guide you

And I would wait for CARNA decision, potential employer will want to know if you're eligible to write CRNE.

So can you say the actual process, once I've been made eligible to write the CRNE, obtain a job offer then what? I'm a bit backward on the immigration part of things; Do fill me in, I like to be on top of things. Thank you.

There are already threads here on this site that give specifics as to what you will need to do and in the proper steps to complete it. Please just have a good read for the needed information.

As Suzanne has said there are a few threads already containing the steps but basically

Get OK from college
Find employer
Get LMO from employer
Complete paperwork for Temp work permit (forms can be found on the CIC website)
Send completed forms plus LMO to the Canadian embassy in London
Wait for medical
Get letter stating meet requirements arrange travel and get TWP on arrival to Canada

If not already sat CRNE by then get sorted for it otherwise work and study for it

Look for RGN1 posts as she did it last year from start to finish was I think 8 months and she passed CRNE very recently and is working

As SD said it's not difficult, I'd stay away from agencies if you can. I know the one that many come to my hospital courtesy of have not been all that hot on many different fronts.

AS has been said, search the threads on this forum & check out the embassy website & you'll find plenty of info.

If you want to PM me I can give you the name of the IEN recruiter at my hospital in Alberta.
