Can I transfer my degree?

Hey everybody!!

So I have a degree as LPN in the US, now we are getting moved to Europe. I was wondering if anyone knows if my degree could be transferred? I tried researching it, but I got completely different opinions and was wondering if any of you have experiences with that!

Thank you in advance

Sarah

Most countries aside from Canada & US don't recognize LPN credentials. Do you have a 2 year associates or more traditional PN diploma? Many countries are BSN education for entry to practice as an RN

What country in Europe there are many?

Hey,

I have a 1 year degree as LPN, I was wanting to get an RN, but we are leaving.

We would be in either Germany or England. I know England might be a little complicated since they do not offer LPN programs anymore, but if I could work there, that would already be great.

Then you have a diploma not a degree. Are you fluent in written, spoken, reading & medical German? Both are EU countries and you are low priority for jobs and education being a non-citizen and non-EU citizen. Neither country will recognize a 1-year US LPN diploma.

Within the EU there is a directive and all nurse training is at RN level so probably finding a job as a LPN will be very hard. UK definitely will not accept LPN and do state so on their website

Yes I am fluent in medical terminology in German and I am a German citizen.

Do you think if I continue education and become an RN it MIGHT get accepted?

Your LPN would not be accepted. A BSN licensed in country of education as an RN might get accepted if the education was to the country's standards

Kudos to you for fluency in German/medical German you would be shocked at the number of posters who want to work overseas and don't know a word of the language.
