can american RNs work in mexico


i have not seen anyone with expericence regarding this
my dp is 1st generation american as his parents are from mexico
we would like to live there someday soon so our son can learn the mexican culture

You would need to pass the nursing exam to be able to be licensed there.
Also be aware that the salaries are nothing like here, you would make in one day here what would be about 1 month there.

i just was wondering how you found out this info..
where should I go to find out about this ..my web searches have not come up with much

Any country requires that you be licensed in their country and in their native language.

I deal with this on almost a daily basis, should say continuous.

You also have to deal with Mexican immigration as far as getting documents that will permit you to be able to work there nd that will probably be your biggest problem, necxt to passing their nursing exam. An deven if you speak fluent Spanish now, Medical Spanish can be quite different, unless you already are fluent in Latin.

ha ha ha that is GREAT

thanks for the info

so i can forget about working in mexico ...oh well

for some reason i thought there might be a need for nurses there that would be over and above the language / licensing barrier
maybe i can just do a long term volunteer thing and work on my spanish ...i want to spend about 6 -8 weeks there one summer ..SOON
