Bush patients struggling with increasing costs

  1. A group of outback councils says remote patients are being forced to bear the cost of medical services being withdrawn from the bush.
    The Western Queensland Local Government Association wants the State Government to increase the amount it pays under a patient transfer subsidy scheme.
    The scheme helps people meet transport and accommodation costs when they cannot access specialist medical treatment in their local area.
