Re: bankdraft in Singapore currency
I had this problem before, also for police clearances since our family is quite mobile due to my spouses's line of work. If ever they are willing to take your USD demand draft, you should add extra $50 for bank charges since the demand draft can only be cleared in the country that controls the foreign currency, that is the USD. So, you have to pay for the banks and agents that will be involved every step of the way, from the Phils., to SG, to US, and so on and so forth which might last for at least 3 weeks. That's why Demand Draft is the least desirable option. For Singapore, you can ask HSBC, Maybank, Citibank for Bank Transfer/Bank Wire/Telegraphic Transfer/Electronic Funds Transfer/ Money Remittance where you can pay in USD. But, you will have to shoulder $20+ for bank charges. You can log on to their websites to get more details of the mentioned services.
