What route are you planing on using to get to the US? That really will have an impact on what advice is offered

We'll what's the easy route?

Im stressing over this for a very long time. I don't mind me doing my RN in the USA but I just wanted to know that I can work with my. Diploma in hospitals AND study at the same time.

The "easy" route is for your partner (if he/she is a US citizen or permanent resident) to sponsor you on a fiance or spouse visa. If he/she is not a US citizen, then you can only be brought over on a spouse visa.

I doubt your diploma will be excepted in the US even though it is the most equivalent in terms of length of education between the LPN and the ADN as it is 18 months long. Hope you are attending a government TAFE as these are the Australian equivalent to a community college, private really only hold recognition by AHPRA.

"Straight forward" would be a better term to use than 'easy'

It is not 'easy' having nursing education transferred as your knowledge is that of the country you are educated, Medications , orders, spelling, culture, health system, culture of nursing, scope of nursing is different sometimes much different, so therefore each country wants to make sure each nurse that practises is competent in the health culture of that country.

No one has posted having EN certificate recognised in any US state and even assessed as equivalent LPN you would need to sit the PN NCLEX.

On saying that if you have an ADN or LPN qualification in the US, Australia is open to all, just like the UK, nothing is visa versa for Australian educated nurses. :banghead:

If looking to go as a EN then the answer is you will not meet work or immigrant requirements as a main applicant. If you are marrying your partner then you may have an option to apply as a LPN and go from there however diploma may be accepted it still doesn't meet work (H1b) requirements and you may be lucky to find employer as a diploma but still have to wait a few years before being able to move and work as a RN in the US. If a Australian citizen you may look at E3 however I think you need to see what nurses experienced in that visa have to say or look up requirements as you may not as an ADN meet requirements

In a nutshell either marry your partner and look at routes to move, get your BSN and then look at moving or try as a ADN and be prepared to 1) finding it hard to find a employer and 2) waiting several years before moving

Hii everyone's, thank you so much for the comments.

My fiancé wants to marry before I come to the USA. We were just waiting for my diploma then I was planning on another 2years at aust for my RN but when I discussed the topic It came to a point that maybe I should do my RN there in USA because it's very different to australia so I don't want to spend 2years studying which wil be a waste.

For the time being do you think there is anything I should be preparing ?? I'm just so confused

From what I think I believe I should just get my diploma and come to the USA right? Then latter on if I'm lucky I can do my RN ?
