Approved CES and BON

by Obansu

Dear all,
The CGFNS has just approved my CES-that I meet all progamme requirements, but I contacted PCS the organisation authorised by the Mass. state BON I want to register about my ATT, they are saying they need to consult the Mass BON for direction because my Uni at UK did not break my hours into various nursing areas as required, here is my questions:
1. Can the BON refuse to give ATT even the CGFNS has approved me?
2. If they can refuse to give ATT what other options are available?
3. What other states BONs are straight forward to approach?
4. What state BONs offer onlinre aplication.
Time is of essence now as I cannot afford to wait any longer. It took about 10 months to get the CES,and I feel I cannot wait any longer to get my ATT.

Thank you all.

Obansu

Yes the BON can refuse eligibility if they feel the X+CES requirements doesn't meet their requirements. You could ask your university to resend transcripts with a completed breakdown on hours. Going to another state may still have the same issues as generally the state requires the nurse to be general trained with hours both clinical and theory proven on the transcripts. Most BON's require paper submission of application and some sort of course evaluation. Takes on average 4-6 months to get eligibility only exception is New York as they do CVS and that takes longer

Not sure what status you have for the US but be aware of retrogression and the long queue a head of you

Of course, the BON can make their own decisions if they are not convinced of the hours. However - it sounds like your problem is PCS and not the BON. I don't understand why PCS says to get a CES and then doesn't accept the result. Your school has to provide the list of hours in each area for the CES, right? How did they determine the result of CES if you didn't provide the right info?

I would be very annoyed if I followed their advice on process and then they decide it's not good enough and would most likely try to argue this with PCS.

Thanx Silverdragon and Ghillbert. I am waiting patiently to learn their decision, but it is so frustrating if after waiting for more than 8 months for CES the approved report is thrown back to you by the BON.

Question is can I shop around for another BON? Any suggestions?

Don't know what you mean by that. The BON you need depends on where you want to work. If you need a MA license, then you're going to have to deal with the MA BON either now or later.
