babyjr,

My chance of having employer in mercanrecruit or any other agency here in Philippines right now is less due to my 0 experience. I am applying to saskatchewan but have not completed all my papers yet for their evaluation and i think it will take time since i need to send the validation of most my recent licensure in vermont board of nursing.i sent vermont inquiry message but have not receive any reply yet. Im doing things on my own and Im hoping to find an employer when im already a candidate to take crne or when i pass my crne. I know its a risky thing to do because I dont have any employer and 0 experience but im willing to have my papers assess and sit on crne while im looking for work. So, while my papers are being assessed I might find a job---> job + crne -----> I might find an employer when Im candidate to CRNE and I do have job.

It's really difficult to find a job here in Philippines because of uneven supply and demand. I want to practice my profession and be a competent nurse but i dont have hospitals to practice.

Right now , I want to be a candidate in CRNE and pass it.

Why don't you just go straight to the health authorities and apply?

Hey johnbrew, have you started processing your documents for SRNA? I just think we have the same situation because I'm considering Saskatchewan and I only have a little hospital experience as a volunteer. Did you consider British Columbia? Because right now I am looking at BC and Saskatchewan.

In BC, you'll be required to take the SEC assessment as well as in Alberta. I did applied in both provinces and they all required me to take the SEC. I applied for a tourist visa but I was denied by the canadian embassy because I am single and I have no travel history. SEC is only taken in Canada. For me, it is much better to apply in Saskatchewan because the process is just lax compared to BC and Alberta.

why not try applying in the US? you are already a US-RN right? you can go there through H1B visa. It will take about 6 months.

Thank you for that info! That enlightened me a bit. So that means I might go through SEC in BC. Do you have a clue as to why they required you to take SEC? Is it lack of experience or a different nursing curriculum in school?

I'm not yet a US RN. I'm considering Canada right now as my first choice even though I don't have any relatives or friends there. But I'm still at the stage of gathering info. So your opinions are most welcome!

babyjr, I already applied for immigrant visa, and according to statistics it will take to 5 years or more. canada is one of the best country and want to take their crne.

toffzter, I have not started my processing yet. Maybe this week, vermont board of nursing have not replied yet on my email about validation of my most recent licensure. once i got their reply, i will start processing my papers. i already downloaded saskatchewan initial application package and filled out necessary information.
yes, bc and alberta do have sec assessment one of the reason i choose saskatchewan. but i also heard in this forum that saskatchewan is implementing sec assessment, im not sure though.
try "going to british columbia" forum, breech applied in bc last year. after bc evaluation, he was permitted to sit in crne. then that was the time he looked for employer and got one.

babyjr,

have you started your application yet?

I see. I also downloaded their application forms but I'm still gathering more info. Now I'm leaning towards Saskatchewan. I'm just waiting for my volunteer work to formally end so I can process my documents full time. I wish you both luck!
