As a general rule, Filipino nurses who have no experience either need to do a bridging program or finish a 1-2 year conversion program.
What is a conversion program? Can you work as a assistant in nursing while doing the program?

The conversion program is the pre-registration nursing degrees for overseas nurses. The student visa will permit you to work 20 hours per week and unlimited hours on holidays. And Yes, you can work as an AIN. Actually, you will need to contact agencies and home care centres to verify this. Usually, they would require you to have certain trainings.

I have contacted one agency, and she said I could. Hope that helps.

hi! well fortunately i was able to buy review materials from someone who has taken and passed the test A already. the person who i bought the reviewers from, seek the service of an agency that's why he's got resources.

however, i can't be much of help now since im here in Singapore and the reviewers are with me here. I haven't browsed the reviewers yet as i need to focus on my IELTS test. I failed the writing part thus i need to resit for the test again. the reviewers are a bit different from NCLEX. i think the best way to do is look for someone who's under an agency and buy their reviewers once they're done.

Hi. When did you lodge your application? How long it took before you received your eligibility? I know there's an influx of applicants now, so it will take longer..Thanks

Try Queensland Health and ANMC, there's tons of reading materials there..Goodluck on your exam!!

Hi thinkerbel

I applied for QNC assessment last April 2008. Usually the assessment time is 2 months but I have problems with my documents regarding proper authentication (if your planning to apply make sure all your documents are properly notarised). My assessment was approved on Sept. They required me to take english exam (ielts) within 3 months. luckily I took IELTS last july. so I submitted my result immediately. after that I received a letter recommending me to CAS (competency assessment service). Choices are to take the Assessment test or education modules. I choose to take the exam because education modules are very expensive (aud$900/module). I paid aud$260 for the test A. I am scheduled now to take the exam .
