Register Today!- Aug 15, '08 by Rich00capQuote from Silverdragon102Will expand on this. The US only accept RN for immigration not EN's or HCA's and with retrogression which has been ongoing since Oct 2006 it is hard for RN's to make the move and looking at years waiting
If I was to find a prospective employer would they be able to petition for me? I'm just looking for a legal way to get work in the US to be with my partner. Not proving easy... - Aug 15, '08 by Silverdragon102Quote from Rich00capThere is no legal way as a HCA for you to go to the US and work. There is no shortage of care assistance and it does not have a visa. Sorry it isn't what you want to hear but it just can not be doneIf I was to find a prospective employer would they be able to petition for me? - Aug 15, '08 by RGN1Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but it's exactly as SD said, there are no visas available for HCA's (in fact right now there aren't even any for registered nurses due to the retrogression.)
You said you wanted to go with your partner - what job does she have & which Visa is she going on? You could always "pop the question" ;-) Hehehe!! - Aug 15, '08 by SuesquatchRNQuote from Silverdragon102There is no legal way as a HCA for you to go to the US and work. That's incorrect. Not that there's no visa, but that there isn't a shortage. We can't get aides for nuthin'.Fiona59 likes this. - Aug 16, '08 by Rich00capQuote from RGN1My girlfriend is a lawyer, she's been headhunted by a Manhattan law firm who are arranging her work permit so no problems for her. I'm desperate for any positive news on how I can get into the US legally, anyone??!!! Is there any work I could legally do? I know this a is a nursing forum but any advice would be greatly appreciated. I just assumed that nursing with my experience would be my best chance but it isn't looking that way.Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but it's exactly as SD said, there are no visas available for HCA's (in fact right now there aren't even any for registered nurses due to the retrogression.)
