Problem of air bubbles and pumps in Paclitaxel administration

Hi,

I'm (still) a french student, and this time I'm looking for information about taxol administration. In fact, I've read that when you wanna to administrate Taxol (Paclitaxel) with an infusion pump, there are always problem with air detection, and the pump rings an alarm!
Can sobody help me by explaining how resolve this problem? How to make the pump work without ringing every minute??! I'm sure everybody has this problem, whatever the brand of the pump.
I'd like to propose a relevant solution in my study..could somebody help?

Thank you for your recommendations,
take care !

Albin

slow the rate.speed creates more turbulence, On some pumps you can reduce or even eliminate the air alarm, but you better be prepared to increase your monitoring
