IV push Med procedure

Jul 12, '12 by IVRUSWell, is the IVP med that you are infusing compatible with the mainline fluids? If not, then you must pinch off, flush, give the IVP med, flush again with a compatible flush solution, then restart the primary.Sun0408 likes this. -
Jul 17, '12 by PEDSOBRNWell if the mainline solution is compatible is it neccessary to pinch off tubing? - Jul 18, '12 by IVRUSCrimping off the tubing prevents retrograde of the IVP medication up the IV tubing and will therefore deliver the medication in the time frame you specificied.
