Inpatient PICC Nurses

We are considering starting a PICC team. For those of you who have a PICC team, how is the patient charged for insertion of the line?
Thanks!!

Thumbs up Re: Inpatient PICC Nurses
They are usually only charged for the insertion kit( with the catheter of course). Nursing usually comes free with the room charge.Sometimes hospitals can add a charge for use of bedside ultrasound, but whether or not hospitals actually get that money is another thing as payments are often grouped by dx. Outpatient charges are a different story and patients can be charged for the insertion and equipment. that is how we do it where I work in Ca. How do others do it?
