    What does that mean that I have to send 15 messages to different persons before I can use the pm?In this messages are included the messages that the others send to you or only the ones you send?

    One must post at least 15 posts (like you've done above) on the public boards before being allowed to use the private messaging (pm) system.

    You now have 15 posts and will be able to send/receive pm's.

    this was implemented to decrease the likelihood of people abusing our policy and soliciting members. if you get any pms that are soliciting in nature, please report them using the icon in your pm. thanks

    i have been pm a few people that will be attending my college. not sure if they are receiving my pm. i requested that they receipt confirm but per my account they haven't open the pm. i have noticed that they have been active online after i had sent them. do you think that they are not receiving them? i am a premium member. do i still have to post 15 times before they get the pm?

    No, Premium/Platinum members do not have to meet the 15 post requirement, mcb5603.

    The ones to whom you send the messages may not have enough posts in order to respond.

    I have PM with these people in the past. The receipt saids that it is unread. Do you think that they r not getting the PM. Does it go somewhere else? like an email address? Perhaps that is why they r not seeing it.

    They could be reading the pm, but choosing not to reply. The "request to read or confirm read", is optional on their part. A member does not have to verify that the pm is read. It's just a courtesy for them to verify they received and read your pm.

    No, the message stays in their inbox. It does not go anywhere else.
