Too many Uti's....

Anyone have any new and innovative tips on UTI prevention in the LTC setting ? New products geared for this ? Thanks !! ...

I think the best prevention is still the old-fashioned kind: offer sugar- and caffeine-free fluids Q 2 hours while awake, take patients to the bathroom at least twice per 8-hour shift, keep them clean and dry at all times, and make sure all caregivers are washing their hands between patients.

Of course, all but the latter would require adequate staffing........
