Hi all, I'm in the process of going back to school for a second Bachelor's degree in nursing (RN-BSN) and am very interested in working in an infectious disease-related specialty during my career. I am currently working on a graduate certificate in Public Health with an emphasis in Epidemiology to compliment the BSN and eventually plan on going to grad school for an advanced degree in nursing. I am wondering if current RN's can offer some advice about the most appropriate advanced education for nurses in this specialty? (NP vs CNS, etc.)

Also, can you offer some insight into the types of positions are available in infectious disease? I know of a few, such as infection control nurses, but am sure there are things I'm not thinking of.

    Thank you!
