Clostridium Difficiel

by jburris

Could someone from this specialty help me - I am a GI Manager with around 350 to 400 patients per month - with our C. Diff. patients. They come from the floor or as an OP to our unit and are playing havoc with productivity. We need to isolate until they are 48 hours without symptoms. This means that Holding, procedure, and post procedure need to be in the same room even if the patient isn't having a colonoscopy. Then housekeeping needs to terminal clean and this may take while. Meanwhile the docs. are screaming because they can't keep working, my boss is screaming because of productivity and the nurses feel they are in the middle. So, what are other places doing?
