by stephr78 Jul 29, '12I was wondering if anyone has experience with transferring in credits that are 10+ years old? I spoke with two different people at ISU and was told that my Ohio U credits from 97-99 for micro, a & p and chem will transfer. I have an outstanding balance at OU that I have been making payments on, but if I know for sure the credits will be accepted, I'll just go ahead & pay it off in order to get them in by the Nov. 1st deadline! Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Well, at ISU that is not a problem.I was wondering if anyone has experience with transferring in credits that are 10+ years old? If you have an outstanding balance at OU, they will probably not release your official transcripts until the balance is paid. Submit an ISU application, have your colleges/universities send official transcripts to ISU. Get your DARS so you know where you stand and what you still need to take. Start studying for the challenge exams (I took about a month per challenge). There is a drop dead date to apply to the nursing program--and they don't make it easy as there is lots of forms, etc that must be filled out, fingerprints and background checks to be submitted, etc. If you are aiming for Jan 2013, that may not work but you would be in good shape for Fall 2013. Best of luck. - Aug 10, '12 by stephr78Thanks! I'm working on the challenge exams now. Everything else has transferred in...just waiting on the OU classes. It's definitely getting down to crunch time! Not sure if I can get everything done by the Nov. 1st deadline, but I'm gonna give it my best shot!!
- Aug 14, '12 by knitchickI graduated with my first Bachelor's degree in 1987. ISU transferred all those old classes over (A&P, Micro, Chem, etc.). You shouldn't have a problem. I am also working on my challange exams. I have one more left to take and plan on having everything ready by the Nov. 1st deadline. Best of luck to you!
