    Ok, so here's whats up.

    September 1st 2012 deadline.

I'm an LPN applying for the LPN to ASN transition to Ivy Tech. I'm an ER LPN (a dying breed) and I fit within the two year time frame.

    I have 3 A's, 1 B and a 79.3% on my TEAS. What do you think?

The anxiety is really getting to me because I feel so competent in my nursing abilities. I've literally saved people's lives and feel I have every right to be as independent and earn as much as the RNs I work with. Yet, I'm plagued by the thought of, "I wasn't good enough to be admitted to RN school the first time, why would this time be any different?"

I'm terrified this thought is the truth and that I'm not academically equipped to be an RN; and then one day my LPN ED position will be disgarded and I'll become disgruntled because I end up working in an environment I know does not suit me.

Two LPNs I work with in the ED who did NOT graduate in the last 2 years applied last spring to start this summer. Their grades were as follows:

    John Doe:

    4 A's
    65.5% on TEAS

Accepted to Lawrence LPN to ASN program

    Jane Doe:

    2B's
    2C's
    80% on TEAS
Waitlisted and then shortly took a spot in one of the Anderson locations.

Some encouraging words would be appreciated. I'll find out of my acceptance or refusal in October. I'll update this post to inform everyone of my standing.

  4. It really depends on how many points you have. What class did you get a B in? APHY is weighted much heavier than the other prereqs. Also there are less applicants for the Spring and probably less for the LPN/RN bridge. All in all you could have a good chance of getting in.
  5. I have 159 points
  6. If you know that people with grades/scores like that got spots, it sounds like you have a great chance. It certainly doesn't hurt to apply. I didn't realize some Ivy Tech's did the transition program in the Spring. I'm in Bloomington and we only have transitions start in the Fall. Good luck!!
  7. :::Update:::

I got my letter. Ivy tech Lawrence has canceled the LPN to ASN transition program for spring 2013. All LPNs to have applied will have applications kept on file and will be reviewed in in February for the May 2013 session at which point 30 LPN applicants will be chosen (instead of the usual 20). Details as to why this has happened are ambiguous.

do you know if they will have the Spring transition starting this January 2014? I live in Muncie and I was really hoping to start in January rather than next May when my region offers it -.-
  9. Yeah the 2014 transitions should be normal
