by tonicareer May 16, '04I recently attended a hospital open house for nurses and want to be nurses. What a disappointment! No one would talk to me. Schools would not answer my questions. Apparently being over 25 I was not considered someone to even consider being a nurse. Didn't even get a tour of the hospital.

- May 16, '04 by traumaRUsI wonder if there is something else going on? What about calling HR and just ask for some general information?
- May 17, '04 by tonicareerI did pick up a piece of information that stated that Bachelor degree nurses who worked there after 2 years were eligible for a maximum 1000 dollar a year toward further education. Sure doesn't sound like much. Associate degree nurses and LPN's received even less. No wonder they have constant turnover in staff. I know that 1000 won't go far in grad school. I was hoping they had scholarships and such - apparently not.
