Has anyone been to MedTech in Greenwood or heard of it? Does anyone know if they have a good nursing program? :)

I am an MedTech RN grad. I feel that, yes I have much yet to learn about nursing. I also understand that I have a two year degree, and not a four year degree. You will not know everything when you initially graduate. If you have chosen to enter the medical field in any way, you will be a lifetime learner, and we all gotta start somewhere right? Well anywho...I can attest that several, of my classmates are working in "hospitals". I however chose to work in a rehab facility. They offered more money. Period. So I would say the only thing i'm not happy with is the amount of money this degree costs. They get a fat thumbs down on expense. I'm currently working with enrollment counselors from Aspen University for the RN to MSN program. Count me as a happy nurse! Yay!

I am a 3rd quarter RN MedTech student. I agree that they have things to work on. I don't know anywhere that doesn't have some issues. They are working hard to improve things. Make suggestions (polietly). As far as not feeling prepared once graduated they make it clear this is an excelerated course and you have to do A LOT of OUT OF CLASS WORK. If you do not take full advantage of the resources availble and do not seek further instruction until you are comfortable you will not feel prepared. The entire staff of MedTech is willing to assist in any way they can. COMMUNICATE POLIETLY and you will be amazed at the results. Don't get me wrong I have a few issues myself, but I know if I went anywhere else I'd have things there too.

MedTech does now take some transfers, there are certain things you can test out of, there are some schools that will take credits so you may further your education, and the LPN is accredited and RN is going for review the end of this year I believe. They are making strides in the right direction. Be patient and understanding. No matter where you go you will have to deal with different problems and learning all that you can is up to you the resources are here.

I'll get off my soapbox now... LOL

I currently was accepted to Medtech. I'm very excited and worried about finical aid. I do not qualify for any pell grants and there is a limit to the amount of money I can borrow through the stafford loan. Anyone have any suggestions about student loans?

Warm regards

I am enrolled in the LPN program at Medtech and start Oct 3rd.

Buying used books will save you some money...my cash payments would have been over 500.00 a month if I got all new books.

I am getting ready to start MT in July and I was wondering if there is someplace people can by used books for the PN program? Is anyone willing to sale their books?

I am supposed to take the Teas Thursday...even if i pass it. can medtech still denie u in the nursing program. or are u just put on the waiting list???

you have to pass at med tech with a forty soething for the LPN or a 51 for the RN. If you don't pass you can re take it again. Good luck!

Basically Med Tech is the first 30 people to get everything in and pass the TEAS are accepted. I was accepted to start in October and changed my mind last minute. I had everything done in 2 weeks so it's not that hard. Just gotta get on it.
