Ivy tech LPN - RN Transition summer 2016

U.S.A. Indiana

Published

I plan on applying to the LPN-RN transition for summer 2016. The deadline is feb1st. I've seen everyone make posts for it for every year except this year? Does that mean nobody is applying ??? Lol. Just wanted to know what grades / Teas score everyone got.

I had

APH101 A

ENGL A

PSYCH B

got a low TEAS score, planning on retaking it in a few days. Very nervous abt TEAS. Not sure how people are getting freaking 80's & 90's, but kudo's to you guys, seriously. I'm jealous..

Anyways, the majority of my corequisites are completed. I'm just one class from being done :)

I too am applying. I got all A's in my pre-reqs and profecient for Teas so I'm not too worried. Just make sure everyone turns EVERYTHING in the packet in. No sense in loosing a spot because you forgot something simple. Good Luck OP.

Hey ! Do you mind sharing your TEAS score? I go to take mine tomorrow AM, so I'll let you know how I do... I got a 53 on the practise assessment & then a 64 :( but everyone said that they did on average 10-15% better on the real test than the practise assessment. I hope it is the same for me.

Sorry I don't get on everyday so I didn't see your post sooner. I know I was in the 70's overall for the TEAS V, but I don't remember the exact numbers. The chemistry on the science killed me. I did pretty good on the rest. How did you do?

I wouldn't worry about it. Your grades were pretty good and your received what you had to for the TEAS. We still did better than the national average so congrats to us on that! Try to not stress too much. I know that is a lot easier said than done, but you met the requirements so you rock regardless.

Hey! Its nice to see a thread on here about the transition program! :) I'm also applying to the LPN-ASN programs at Lawrence and Columbus. I just took my second TEAS attempt today and got a 66.(1st attempt was a 64) I am not happy with that at all. This version is a lot harder than the TEAS 3, which I got an 80 on it back in 2010 for the LPN program. I was hoping for a better score today, but I didn't get much study time in as I am caring for my mom who has ALS. The chemistry questions about killed me too!! I got all A's in the required pre-req's. Sending you all positive thoughts, vibes, and prayers! Good luck!!

Yes the TEAS was awful, seriously ....! I'm glad your applying & wishing you luck also! I just submitted all of my applications today & I am already beginning to have anxiety as i wait to hear back. I feel like February is going to be the longest month yet :(

I applied to 4 or 5 campuses. Lawrence & Columbus included :)

..was 66 your over all score or the weighted score ?

66 is just my TEAS score. My weighted score is 66.8, making my overall score a 126.8.(if I calculated correctly) Not good at all. I could just cry right now. Im so disappointed in my scoring, that I can't even be anxious for the letters. lol What other campuses did you apply to? I will be submitting my applications tomorrow.

I think you'll be okay, to be honest. Try to apply to a few more campuses. . the LPN - RN transition isn't nearly as sought after as the regular LPN & RN. They usually get just enough applicants to run the progran. :) I'm only a few points higher than you , but I'm trying to think positive & pray alot lol.

Lawrence, Bloomington, Anderson, Muncie & Columbus. Me & my husband got up @6am to drop them all off. Anderson & Muncie both were submitted at the same place! I live in Indy so Bloomington is the furthest from me. Abt 1hr & 15 mins. Def willing to make the trip though.

I had them go through my stuff to ensure everything was there!

I didn't know Bloomington was offering the program too. I saw where Terre Haute offered it with a Sept. deadline. And I totally didn't think about the Anderson location. I guess I could over-night the application. It would be worth every penny. :) I live in Mooresville, which really isn't too bad of a drive from those same locations.(except Muncie) It takes me about an hour to Lawrence, Columbus, and Anderson. Thank you for letting me know about those other campuses! And thanks for the encouragement! Sending up prayers for both of us!
