Used Chem book

Hello all,

I am taking Chem 101 online this summer from South Bend campus. Does anyone know where to get a used book?

Thanks,
Jill

Hey Jill!

How did orientation go??
I managed to swap out my Micro book for a Chem book with a member of the board here. I just had to buy the Pin # from the book store.
Do you have Pharm to take as well this summer?
I was checking with the program chair and she suggested that I NOT take Chem this summer as the Pharm, plus a calc math test, tons of tests, plus going Mon-Friday 8-315p will be brutal. ( her words).
I am still enrolled but also enrolled for the fall course just incase and the Prof said it was ok to use the same book/pin for the fall.

I am thinking 11 credit hours is a heavy load for the summer.
Whats your schedule like?

Howdy Stranger,

No, I do not have to take Pharm!..Thank God! I just have my transition class and then the Chem. So 8 credit hours. And now that I am going to Muncie, we are only going 3 days a week for an 8 week session...YEAH! Orientation was kind of unorganized...LOL..Just like I remember the LPN orientation. I sure am nervous about this Chem class though. Did you get my email I sent you last week? Anyway, hope all is going well.

I bought and sold all my text books from half.com
Amazing site if you know what you will need for fall my advice is buy now, as once a few weeks before semesters begin the prices go up. Mid semester they are cheap and you can wait list for the price you want, and once someone lists at that price they send you an email.

If I buy them there though, I won't be able to use my financial aid to pay for them. ( so no cost out of my pocket).

is that how you did it?

No you have to use pay pal. What if you dont use all your financial aid? Do you get a refund on the amount? As I went through nursing school on scholarships/student loans and I always got a refund check from my loans as my scholarships covered the tuition amount.

Yes, I will get a check for the unused balance on my loans/grants etc.
But the problem is coming up with hundreds of dollars for books if I don't buy them at the book store. Can't afford out of pocket right now.

Thanks for the web site though. I will look and see if there are any great deals.

By using half.com it wont cost you 100s. I have bought and sold text books for as little as 5.00 and as much as 50.00. The 1st year I was in school I too used financial aide to buy my books, then I realized it really was my money, it was granted to me to buy books, by using half.com I was able to save so much I could use the left over for other important things like GAS---eeggadds.

Here is what you do, log on and sell last semesters book then with that money buy next semesters. It is not just text books, I have sold cook books, children's bibles, kids books, novels. I had a recruiting book on closes that I kept from a job I had 10 years ago, I had not looked at that book in a decade, and who knew, but it must have been a great book for recruiters as I sold it for 75.00!!!

It is easy to do, you just enter the ISBN number and it pulls the book up for you, then you just describe its wear and tear. They pay you on the 1st and the 15th for what ever books you sell, so you dont even have to email the buyers, they do it all for you. They just email you the address on where to send it.
