Purdue (Hammond) Accelerated BSN Program

by megc629

Does anyone have any info on this program? I can't seem to find much info on their website besides general requirements? Any idea of what time of year the program starts? I see their NCLEX pass rate is 100%.

Any info is much appreciated!

Thanks!

Meg,

Unfortunately, I've never seen anyone say much about Purdue in West-Lafayette, much less Purdue-Calumet in the Indiana discussions. Have you searched this website for Purdue-Calumet? I found a few discussions, but none of the information seemed all that useful---just people who posted unaswered responses similar to your own. Also, I looked at their website, and I can see why you are on here asking questions. Most of the threads on here (relating to the state of Indiana) seem to center around Ivy Tech.

I would just call the nursing department at Purdue-Calumet. I had a so-called "laundry list" of questions regarding IU's school of nursing at IUPUI, so I made several calls to admissions and financial aid offices. There isn't a lot of information on this website regarding that program either, but IUPUI's website is much more straight forward than Purdue-Calumet's (i.e. once you navigate to the Second Degree BSN program page there is a link on the side-- "How to Apply"--that takes you to step-by-step instructions on the application process). Once I got through the initial phase of admission at IUPUI I was able to meet with a counselor in the nursing department who answered the rest of my more specific questions regarding the program. I have also e-mailed and called the nursing department since then, and I found a contact within the program who has answered some of my questions as well.

Some people have met with counselors before beginning the application process, so you might want to look into that as well.

Maybe you could try networking through another site, such as facebook, to find someone within the program who would be willing to share some info with you?

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. Good luck!
