pay for nursing officer of the day at va hospitals

Hi, I've been interviewed for an NOD position at the VA but no formal offer yet...so the pay is very confusing as well as the job responsibilities. Any NOD's out there to give me an idea how all this works? Also, what is the average wait time to complete the hiring process?
Thank you to everyone you're the best resource on the net!
