A NON- Ivy tech question-- Bloomington nurses???

Sheesh, why is this Indiana board all about Ivy Tech?
Where are all the active nurses?

I would like to hear about Monroe Hospital vs. Bloomington Hospital
Anyone?

From what I have heard/experienced about both hospitals ( I live in B-town)............
Monroe Hospital is small, well staffed and generally well recommended. Their staff turn over is next to nil.
Bloomington Hospital..............I personally would not take my dog there (JMHO).
The staff I know who work there dislike it, state the management does nothing to keep them there, no incentives and the pay is below average.

My personal experience with BH is horrid. Giving me Versid and then Demerol, even though it was clearly listed in my chart as allergies...........I went into Resp arrest. 2nd time in hospital due to severe asthma attack, I waited 8 hours to even get a inhalation treatment after I was admitted. I literally called my husband and crawled up to the nurses station and told them ( as they sat at the desk laughing and telling jokes) that I was leaving and going to Morgan Hospital for treatment. They convinced me to stay and I demanded they call my MD. He literally screamed at them for being so lax( I could hear him yelling at the charge nurse).
BTW- that charge nurse is no longer employed with BH for many reasons- the above included.

When I graduate next year, BH will not be a place that I apply to. They are merging with Clarian Health so that may help with issues. But personally, if I need medical attention, I will drive to Martinsville or Bedford to go to the ED.

Sorry BH nurses. JMHO of 9 years experience. I am sure there are many nurses at BH that will say otherwise and love their jobs. But after almost dying 3 times because of errors, I don't go there anymore.

Probably because the majority of us are attending school there? And no one else has posted about anything else?

No duh so everyone's going to Ivy Tech. Thanks for the super friendly answer. I wasn't trying to be mean. I am wondering why there are no nurses posting. Hoping to hear from working/non Ivy Tech people.
What was the point of your nasty answer? I hope you'll be a more patient nurse when you graduate!

Her answer wasn't any nastier than your original question and later response can be taken.

Amen! Every time I look at this thread, it's all IVY TECH. It's of no use to me. May I suggest a thread just for IVY TECH Let's take a role call and go from here:
I am an LPN. I am an independent contractor. I do drug testing and corporate health testing. It's a fun job and I love it!

There is a thread just for Ivy Tech and it gets tons of use. The problem is there are many different campuses, issues, etc. If someone wants to know about a certain class at Ft. Wayne, they don't want to have to dig through 40 pages of info about Indy to get what they are looking for, so they ask in their own thread.
The board seems to be mostly Ivy Tech stuff, only because other people rarely post. I would love it if more people would post topics other than Ivy Tech info. Personally, I stick to the Ivy Tech thread because it is what pertains to me the most.

I don't see a problem.

If you want to talk about something else do it.

If you don't want to read Ivy Tech posts don't.

Really what is the big deal?

How would Ivy Tech posts interfere in anyway with any other person's wanting to post on other subjects.

and to quote the OP "duh"
