Question Re: Ivy Tech TEAS and APHY 201 ?
Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone encountered any "work" math problems on the TEAS. For example: "If Bob can paint a house in 4 hours, and Bill can paint a house in 7 hours, how long will it take them to paint the house together?"

If yes, were they much more difficult than this example?

I am taking the TEAS in Richmond this Saturday and I feel like I have a pretty good grasp on all the math except for this.

Thanks in advance for your replies

I didn't come across any problems like that, although I had my husband teach me the formula for solving them just in case. The majority of the math I had was: ratios & proportions, percentages, and then "simple" math like 276,895 minus 45,321 and stuff like that. Good Luck!!

In addition to the ratios, proportions, and percentages mentioned, I had one question where you needed to use the pythagorean theorm (the a²+b²=c² equation). Also know your inches to centimenters, ounces to gallons, and lbs to kilograms. Best of luck to you!

I'll go with the other girls and tell you I had no problems like that on there.

I had a lot of mixed fractions with dividing, multiplying, subtracting, adding...a question that required converting F to C which I have SUCH a hard time with doing long hand, simple math, some algebra. Math was not too bad at all.

My main problem was science, although I scored well over the requirement to apply. Chemistry and physics are definitely NOT my strong suit. I say definitely know your periodic table, all about atoms, velocity, etc. Also know the scientific method well.

I had a F/C temp question, but I didn't do the math for it to be honest. I just have it memorised that 37C is 98.6F and I estimate from there

LOL. Well I knew that F is always higher in relation to the same temp in C, so two of the answers were out since they were WAY over the F temp...and having friends from Canada, guesstimating C has gotten to be a little easier haha!

This is my first time to post on allnurses. Is anyone here applying to Evansville Ivy Tech? If so, I was wondering if you know how many they are taking in the fall for ASN program? I heard 60 this fall & 60 for spring 2010. There are so many rumors you never know what's true. I'm turning in my application on Monday March 1st for the April 1st deadline. End of May is a LONG wait.

Hi all4Him7. I'm applying in Evansville too. Take this for what it's worth, but a person in one of my classes said he heard 50 for this fall. I also heard that it may drop to 40 because about 10 students may not finish on time. In my orientation session, the program chair would not give us a number. She would only say it could range from 40 to 80 spots depending on how many graduate. She did tell us the point totals for the spring 2009 class were 202 thru 215. How did you do on your teas? Good luck and you're right: the end of May is going to seem like forever!

I got an 83 on my teas, I'm in A&P 102 now, and currently have a 103% in the class. Unless, something goes majorly wrong I'll have an A. That will give me 4 A's in my pre-reqs with a total score of 206. I have heard too, that 200 and up is a good score. I hope that's good enough. What's your total score?
