Indiana/Ohio dual license and which state to take nclex

I am hoping for some advice on this subject. I am due to graduate early Jan. and live 20 min from Indiana border (live in Ohio) I am debating on taking nclex in Ft. Wayne as it is closer that any of the Ohio nclex sites. I am hoping to get a dual state license to give me more employment choices and wondered if anyone knows if that is possible and If you have any advice for me. Are Indiana NCLEX different or same as Ohio? Thanks for any help, advice you can give me.

You need to get a license in one state, and either endorse to other states that you intend to work in, or see if you are covered under Compact state regulations.

I am not familiar with whether either of those two states are "compact states", but if you are licensed in and a legal resident of a "Compact" state, there is whole list of states that belong to the Comapct" that you can work in with endorsement. Otherwise, you endorse to other states to be licensed.

You are permitted to hold licenses in several states at the same time, as long as you keep up the fees/requirements of each state.

Neither state belongs to the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact). However, you can hold as many state licenses as you're willing to pay for. The good news is that you only have to pass the NCLEX once. You can take the NCLEX and get licensed in either state, and then just apply for licensure in the other state "by endorsement" -- you will not have to take the exam again, just submit the application and whatever associated paperwork the other requires and pay the fee.

Best wishes!

And the NCLEX is delivered via PearsonVue. I think you can take it wherever you want, without regard to which state is granting your license.
