I have been out of school for almost 10 years and I was a little rusty on my study habits. I am planning on applying at Terre Haute, Greencastle, and Bloomington. I didn't know if it is possible to test out of a class either. I am taking Math050 and I feel that I could pass it very easily and would rather move on to the classes that count. The person who signed me up for my classes didn't give me a recent Compass exam, they took the one that I did 4 years ago....which doesn't make sense to me! Plus I can't take Anatomy 102 until I pass math 050, so that delays me one more semester and I would really like to get into the program as quick as I can. Also, is it possible to work a flexible full time job, be a mommy of two little girls (5 months and 17 months), and get good grades??? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
First of all you can definately go to the counselors at the school and tell them you want to retake the compass exam to try and test intothe needed math class. Also, yes you can do the work, kids, and program and get good grades; with alot of hard work on your time. About the C in anatomy, I dont know anyone who personally got in with a C, Although Im sure it is possible. It all depends on your total points when applying to the program. At the Valpo campus the lowest I think that got in was with 189 points, but Ive read where some other campuses had low of 206. So it just depends on how everyone else did. Dont give up no matter what and just work hard, and everytime you get discouraged just remember how much better off you and your kids will be when its all done.(thats how I make it through most days!!!)
