Be careful since even though you get your degree from BM, you may not be able to transfer into an ASN program. That is the issue with nonaccreditated programs, not only do you have a problem finding employment at certan places, but then you have the problem of credits and your degree being accepted by other accreditated institutions. I can tell you at Ivy Tech Indy they will not accept an LPN who graduated from BM into their transition LPN to ASN program. I would advise asking the program you want to potentially transfer in about if they will accept transcripts from BM now, before you put the effort into attending BM.

This can be so crazy I know! Well I transferred Anatomy I & II and they accepted. plus Psycology 101. So even though I am going to BM and considering taking Anatomy I & II over, I suppose that I will be ok. I would hope that they would consider my accredited classes that are already there and allow me to just take TEAS and the one required math course and allow me to get in. I do know that General Ed Courses won't transfer. I am calling again to verify that, but I was almost sure they told me that I could. I will discuss in detail with Nursing Pro Chair. I am appreciating your comments and information. I really need this!

I applied to Clarian and was called by the recruiter and told that. I wanted to cry. Ugh...

I graduated from Brown Mackie in Fort Wayne earlier this year. Certain aspects of that school, such as the financial aid department were absolute chaos most of the time. I did not like the fact that they let every single person off the street into the nursing program, I know that kinda sounds bad. But what I mean is that w/ no entrance exam a a lot of people seemed to either not want to be there or think it was easy or a blow off. I had a lot of great instructors, and some of them I would still contact. It is a quick program, but so are all LPN programs. The one thing that I think Brown Mackie has in their favor is NCLEX prep. They prepare you w/ NCLEX test labs from the first class. If anyone is wondering if they take credits, they took my A&P 1&2 and Psych 101 from Ivy Tech, but that was up to them. And yes this school is EXPENSIVE ($270ish/credit), but if that is the only choice or you can't wait it is worth it.

My husband used to work for Brown mackie, he was the Business Officer and in collections. His sister also worked in Financial Aid. Neither of them would not recommend that collage to anyone. They are not a credited collage, he has told me a lot of bad things about that collage and the way they have their classes set up. He said they are a rip off.

Calling All Brown Mackie Grads!!!!
I would love to hear from Brown Mackie graduates that have succeeded as far as landing a good job, being able to transfer their credits for higher education (RN), what schools in Indiana accept BM LPN's credits, and assure those that plan to attend there that they are accredited. I know that the human resource of Saint Anthony doesn't allow them to complete their clinicals there. I thought the Occupational Therapy Asst program was the only one that wasn't accredited. If anyone is interested in their Surgical Tech program, that one is accredited. You can find that on the CAAHEP website.

Please inform us.
Thank you all,

Do you mean $27,000 for tuition? That's actually really good compared to California private schools. I may think about relocating. So, they take credits based on undisclosed decisions? I have 75% of my prereqs done, how long did you attend the program for?

$270 a credit hour isn't even as expensive as other programs. However, its expensive for a program that is not accredited and will not transfer on to other colleges.
