BM just pi$$ed me off! I was informed by the acedemic advisor that all of a sudden there is a waiting list for the LPN program! I am supposed to be starting next start which is next week! Now she tells me that I may have to wait until July! I had my hopes set on starting asap because I am so motivated to get out of the MA program and get started on the nursing one! I'm almost mad enough to look at other options because that's bad business to tell me one thing, and then right before my financial aid appointment, tell me something else. Im wondering if this is how its going to be if I attend there! huff!!

Vonsay, are you talking about the BM in Merrilville?

I didn't finish applying because they would never give me a straight answer about transfer credit and financial aid.

I was going to go it I could get credit for all my supporting classes. Even if I did not finish the LPN, the school I was going to for my RN would have given me advanced credit and let me test out, putting me WAY ahead.

The guy at BM in Merrilville was so vague and the girl was worse even AFTER I sent my transcripts.

I think it can be a great school and alternative for people if they get better admissions staff.

I am sorry they messed up your plans

Vonsay, have your considered the ASN program at Purdue North Central in Michigan City/Westville?

They put applicant in three pools: those with no college credit, those with college credit/some prereq's and those with all pre-req's.

It is possible to get in their with only a handful of your classes done. I know people who have. The deadline for Jan 2007 is June 1st so you can still get in an application if you hurry!

But I have to say that I have heard good and bad things about this school and others. In my opinion the teachers are well educated, you have 48hrs of theory and 48hrs of clinicals each month, and if you fail a rotation, you won't have to wait another semester/year to retake the class because they start every month.

Hello I am supposed to start program in November. I have my financial aid appt next week. I am sort of concerned about that. I tried to apply for student loans through Wells Fargo and was denied. Yes the school is very expensive. I have tried to get into so many nursing programs that I am so frustrated. It seems like Brown Mackie is a good choice but the cost is my issue. I am anxious and nervous to find out what my monthly payment will be. Do you like the classes once a month?

Hello, Could you share with me how you went about getting student loans for BM? I have applied through Wells Fargo and was denied. Any other suggestions or options? Thanks!

I totally agree! It is so hard getting into Nursing programs in Indy! I hope Brown Mackie works for me. I am scheduled to start November 2, 2009. Have you any information or opinions of program. I am searching for ways to pay because it is so expensive.

I went to BM and now only certain places will hire me due to their non-accredidation with the NLNAC. So certain hospitals will not hire you. I was advised by the Riley - Clarian Health group will not hire graduates from BM until it is accredidited though NLNAC. Just a warning.

Yes I have heard that too! I work at Clarian and they told me the same thing. However you can work in some hospitals but more long term care like nursing homes..I plan to get my ASN after this through IVY Tech or IU
