- Apr 10, '12 by Reese2012Does everyone here have a full time job right now or are you just taking classes?
I currently work full time at a law office, and on the weekends (flex) I work as a CNA. At night I go to school and next semester I will be taking 2 classes to finish up my pre-reqs for NIU.KareBear0609 likes this. - Apr 10, '12 by KareBear0609I only work every other weekend as a CNA. I've got three classes this semester. If I am accepted for the fall, I will have three classes to take over the summer. If I am accepted for the Spring (which is my goal), I can divide up my three classes into summer and fall. If I am denied, I don't know what I'll do!!!! Cry for a good three weeks!!!
- Apr 10, '12 by willow7Quote from KareBear0609That's fine. :P I am!Sorry, Willow... guess I shouldn't assume you are a her lol

KareBear's right about all the orientation stuff too. If you do it this month though, it's a little bit cheaper and the schedule is slightly more abbreviated (since it was specifically for transfers). Of course this only really matters if you're planning to attend NIU regardless, because otherwise you're kind of stuck waiting. :\
Also, I work part-time and I've been a full-time student this semester. I'll be working full-time over the summer though depending on my course load. I'd really like to get the last bit of my prerequisites done, but if I happen to get accepted for Spring semester (which would pretty much be my ideal scenario), then I have fall semester to finish everything up too. I don't know how much not having my prerequisites done is going to hurt me though, but I'm hoping not a lot.
And I can't believe you guys filled up over a page in one day! I love it. It's so nice to have someone to talk to about all this stuff.
Quote from Reese2012Totally agreed, by the way!If we all get accepted we should all go out somewhere together and celebrate!
- Apr 11, '12 by Megs2125I still haven't heard anything. I was told last Tuesday that the letters for current students were being sent out later last week or early this week. I'm 26 and I currently work full time in advertising. I have two classes I will have to take if I am accepted for the fall which is what I'm hoping for!!KareBear0609 likes this.
- Apr 11, '12 by KareBear0609I had a nightmare last night. The cut-off was a 3.2 and they didn't accept me. I couldn't believe it. I kept telling them my GPA is a 3.88. I was crying and everything. I filed a complaint, lol. OMG what a nightmare that was!
Anyway, 19 more days left until the end of April! We are now down in the "teens"! Almost halfway through April! - Apr 11, '12 by Reese2012Has anyone called to find out what the cut off GPA is for the students that are currently attending NIU since their letters would have been mailed out already? At least, that would give us an idea on what we would need in order to be accepted.
- Apr 11, '12 by Reese2012Another question, does NIU look at the last 60 hrs of credit that are transferred in, or everything that is transferred from another university? The reason I am asking is because my GPA could be higher and I may not know it.

I Figured it out - Apr 11, '12 by KareBear0609I think they can see everything. But the specific classes needed to get into the nursing program is what's looked at the most.
