by endji Feb 22Hey all!
I was sadly dismissed from my nursing program last semester. I didn't have the best grades but I had like a B- average. I had Bs and A&P and Patho and stuff like that, but Cs in some of my nursing courses. I was also able to study abroad while in nursing school. So I definitely worked really hard.
Last semester though was totally not characteristic of me. I failed both Med/Surg (I had a 74.4 w/ 75 passing) and Pharmacology. I even got a C- in nutrition! It was so bad!
I'm still at my current school working toward a psychology degree, and I will appeal next month. Although I'm not very hopeful because not many people are granted readmission. I will definitely try my best, but I am also looking for other options. I've called Lewis and Olivet Narzene and neither will accept me because of my previous dismissal. The only school that I THINK will accept me is Chamberlain. (I have a very low GPA thanks to fall semester.)
I'm right now torn between transferring somewhere to get my BSN or to stay where I'm at and earn a BA in psych and then get an ADN... then from there eventually get to a masters program.
Will ADN schools accept me w/ previous dismissals? What about other BSN programs? Also, if i decide to get my MSN or NP or APN, will my dismissal matter when applying to these programs? What about the GEP programs at DePaul or UIC?
Anyone else in the same boat?!
