by JAChicago Mar 8, '11Hello! First time posting! I have decided to go back to school and pursue my passion of becoming a nurse. I am currently getting set-up to take the necessary prereqs (through city colleges of chicago), but I am having a hard time narrowing down a school to apply to. I am currently a teacher, with a masters in teaching, so I'm interested in pursuing the ABSN route since it seems the most cost effective, but the only one I can find around Chicago is Loyola for $45,000!!! I'm wondering if there are better financial options, or from previous Loyola ABSN grads, do they offer a lot of financial aid? Coming off a teacher's salary there's no way I can afford that, but the ABSN program would be prefect for me. I don't think I want to get my masters in nursing just yet, so I'd prefer to stick to the bachelors route, and I know the ADN route has loooooooong waiting lists. PLEASE HELP!!!!
