what are my options? need help

My history-BA Psychology, Depaul '07. GPA ~2.95. Premed classes at COD GPA ~2.6. I was premed until I got my MCAT scores and seems its not going to work out for now...anyway nursing is my next plan, i need your suggestions and directions please.

I'd like to go back and get an accelerated BSN/Graduate entry masters in Nursing...I'd like to know where I can get in with mediocre numbers like mine. I'm applying to Lakeview but prefer to stay in the chicago area...anyone have any info if i can get into Loyola/rush/uic/depaul with less than a 3.0?

Rush has discontinued their BSN program; I go to UIC and it is highly competitive- I applied with a 3.4 overall and a 3.8 in science; I believe Depaul's nursing program is a completion for RN-BSN and I don't know about Loyola. You may want to retake some of your prereqs. Good luck!

**Also, since you have a BA in Psych, you may want to look into accelerated BSN programs.

I applied to UIC's BSN program but I have not heard back yet. I am wondering what your work experience was like when you applied. Your GPA makes me feel hopeful I will get in! How do you like UIC's program?

Love the program! So many people made me fearful of nursing school, but now I know it's so unfounded. The only thing that remains true is the enormous amount of reading, but the profs are so amazing! Everyone here cares about your success and I feel you can only fail if you don't seek help...as soon as you get less than a "B" on an exam, they offer to review your tests, refer you to the free tutors and ask whatever can they do to assist you in raising your grades. The exams are now all NCLEX type, but I feel that's a good thing. I hope you get in. Any other questions, just respond here or PM me :wink2:

Oh, by the way, I had no prior work experience besides caring for my sister. She was completely dependent (cerebral palsy) and we cared for her at home. No CNA experience, no volunteering, etc. She passed away.
