Rush starting pay

U.S.A. Illinois

Published

Hello all,

does anyone know what the starting pay rate is for a nurse at Rush? I am starting an accelerated BSN in the Spring and may potentially be moving there afterwards. I called the compensation office and the lady told me that they did not disclose pay rate? I guess you would have to apply for a position and then they would discuss it then?

Thanks, SC

2 years ago at my job offer from Rush the starting pay was 21 or 22/hour for a RN with one years experience. Good Luck!

Specializes in post surgical, tele, icu.

wow! How do nurses survive on that low pay? I make more than that in CLEVELAND (the biggest poor city in the U.S.).

Guess it's just as well I can't seem to get a job offer out there.

Big hospitals like Rush don't have to pay their nurses as much due so many nurses wanting to work at a very big, well known hospital.

I have friends that started at Northwest Community as a new grad (in arlington heights) at 24.oo/hr.

Advocate Christ Hospital-in Oak Lawn-pay starts at 26.50. I'm surprised that Rush doesn't pay their new grads more!

This was 3 years ago that I asked this question. I'm sure the starting pay is all very similar in Chicago...I interviewed at 3 of the big ones there and they were all within less than a dollar of each other.

Oh wow, sorry I didn't see the date.

Seems like suburban nurses are making more! You can make $44 dollors an hour at some!

Does Advocate South Suburban pay the same thing I have an interview with them on Monday, In Hazelcrest.:yeah:

I work there now doing as an NAII now. The starting pay for new grads is $25.50/hr.

I started in march, it is 25.25. I don't think they've raised it to 25.50. You get about $4 more for nights.
