Resurrection University (West Suburban College of Nursing) Spring 2011 applicants

U.S.A. Illinois

Hi all!

I'm in a process of applying to the Resurrection University (formerly West Suburban College of Nursing) for BSN Spring 2011 program (generic 16 months option). I started this thread to get and give some support along the process. Let's help each other out and maybe get know better before the semester starts! I'm about to start my final (fall) semester at Wilbur Wright College, I already took the TEAS exam, submitted my online application, letters of recommendation and essay. I'm just waiting for my official transcript with summer school grades. I'll be going for the guaranteed admission program. If anyone has questions or just want to share his/hers experiences- please post your comments! GOOD LUCK Y'ALL !! :)

I'm sticking with Resurrection, since many schools have long waiting lines, and I have a few friends that went through the program and loved it. I've had many experiences with teachers that haven't made the grade, but as a student I felt that it was my responsibility to find other ways to understand the material. It would be nice if all teachers were great, but unfortunately that is never a guarantee. My advice for this type of situation is to try to turn this into a positive experience by surrounding yourself with classmates, tutors, and family that will encourage you to keep pressing on. Success is always within reach!

As a current student of Res U. I'm very disappointed with the program. Most of the time I have to learn it myself. I feel like i got cheated with my money I paid this sem. I don't want to freak any new comers but as a fellow student, I strongly recommend to minimize your working schedule. Make friends with your classmate because a lot of times you will end up making a study group. PLEASE AVOID CRAMMING during your stay. If you're taking Patho take Reese and Osowski. They're very good and certainly know what they're talking about. If you ask me if I would ever recommend this school to any of my family and friends, the answer is NO.

Thank you for the information. I decided against resurrection and am going to finish my nursing at Chamberlain's 13 month bsn program. Seven at the community college they just read the power points so we have to do the reading and studying on our own.

Hi Everyone!

I am currently trying to apply to nursing schools. I already have a B.S but decided to go back for nursing. Right now Resurrection is my top choice because of their 16 months program. However after reading some negative comments about Resurrection, I'm not sure if it would be a good choice anymore. I was wondering if I could get some feed backs from current students who are attending Resurrection right now. If you are a current student can you please give me some feed backs about the school. I would like to know if it was worth it. How are the classes at Resu? How are the instructors? And if you like going there? If you are a current student PLEASE help. I just want to make sure I'm not making the wrong choice.

Thank you all!
