Resurrection University Fall 2012 Applicants

U.S.A. Illinois

Published

Hi all,

I am new here and have found the forum to be very informational. I decided to start a thread for Resurrection's fall 2012 applicants. I think it would be good to keep in touch throughout the process, so if you have any questions or comments feel free to express them here. I already submitted my application, transcripts and essay, all I need is to take the TEA's test. I'm taking it in February and am really nervous because I haven't even started studying. Has anyone taken it yet? How was it?

I am also applying to 2 other programs:

Loyola's ABSN program

Truman's Associates in Nursing program

I am debating on applying to UIC's GEP program, DePaul's MENP program and Rush's GEM program.

If anyone else is applying to these, please let me know! Thanks & good luck to all.

Hey guys,

I only have 2 books left if anyone is still interested in buying:

1. Wong's Essentials of Pediatric Nursing by M. Hockenberry 8th edition ($40) - You'll use this for Pediatrics

2. Community-based Nursing an introduction by McEwen 3rd edition ($25) - You'll use this for Community

I have really discounted the prices for u all. PM me if interested.

Good luck with classes!

Thanks, trying not to sweat the schedule, just hoping it will be manageable! Other than financial aid and paying tuition, I am officially done everything too. We start one month from today and it would be really nice to know whether or not I will have the funds to even attend, especially after paying so much money out of pocket already for books, uniforms, shoes, etc.

Has anyone received their award letter yet?

I was told that we can expect some terms from the program to be 6 days a week including one day from the weekend... I don't know how they make their decision on when clinicals are but hopefully it's reasonable

I was not told that, and actually they made it pretty clear, during orientation, that the full time students would only have school/clinicals from Monday to Friday, during regular hours. If what you head is correct, it is something important that every potential student should have been notified about, as many of us (unfortunately) have to work throughout school just to survive, and a lot of students have a family as well.

I don't know for sure but what I was told by one of the entrance counselors I met with during my transcript told me that depending on my schedule that some students at one point in time may have to attend 6 days a week for clinicals to fit... I'm hoping that I was told wrong because I will never see my son or family and that's a lot to take on especially it already being an accelerated program!!

I feel very dumb today because I can't find the titles to the books nor the link to the virtual bookstore where I can get the name of the books. Can someone please direct me? :)

Thanks!

If you go to the resu website and click the current student tab go to the quick links page under the tab and the bookstore is on that page.. If any questions just ask :)

Thank you deshield and storshar!

Is anyone else STILL waiting to hear about financial aid? It's getting ridiculous. I have emailed, left a voicemail and called and actually talked to someone, yet still I have made no progress.

I haven't heard anything yet either. What did they tell you when you called?

That my file hadn't come up in the system automatically. She said she would get started on it. That was last week.
