I really want to go back to graduate school, but I know there is all this controversy about the MSN vs DNP in order to be considered a nurse practitioner. Does anyone know what IL plans to do? Most schools still have their MSN/APN programs and have the DNP program as a seperate one. I just don't want to start in a program and expect to only have to do my master's and then surprise, I'm in the program and now I'm going for the doctorate.

    Any info is appreciated!

It is still a suggestion at this time - IL recognizes an MSN with a specialty in NP, CNS, CRNA, CNM all as advanced practice nurses.
